Enhancing Data Access with DHIS2 Interoperability

Title: Enhancing Data Access, Analysis, Reporting, and Data-Driven Decision-Making through DHIS2 Interoperability. Background Public health organizations frequently struggle to manage data from various sources. The information is often scattered across different tools, platforms, and languages, making it challenging to access, analyze, and use effectively for timely decision-making. Acknowledging these obstacles, LifeNet Internation created MoniTrac, a multilingual DHIS2 platform integrating data from six countries of operation analysis for program outcome measurement and decision-making processes Intervention MoniTrac integrates data from countries such as Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Ghana, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This solution utilizes OpenHEXA, an open-source data integration platform, to extract, clean, align, and compute custom indicators through automated pipelines. The data is transferred to MoniTrac, where reports and dashboards are created for the program indicators. Integrated data sources include DHIS2 platforms from six countries, the Moodle eLearning platform, and IASO_data collection tool. MoniTrac also integrates with Power BI for advanced visualization, enabling stakeholders to create dynamic dashboards tailored to program needs. Results The implementation of MoniTrac has yielded significant benefits, including: I. Recording 10,346,180 patient visits from 426 health facilities across 6 Countries between January and December 2024 II. Tracking enrollment of 2,412 healthcare workers registered to the Moodle platform across the LifeNet network in 2024. III. Facilitating a network of 549 multilingual dashboard users, enabling informed data-driven decisions since April 2024. Conclusion MoniTrac showcases the transformative potential of DHIS2 integration and interoperability in advancing data-driven decision-making. This innovative solution offers a replicable model for global health projects., ultimately strengthening public health programs and improving health outcomes.
